FOX 10: Arizona Center Holiday Tree Lighting and Festivities
Arizona center is ready for the holidays. All the festivities, including a big tree lighting happening tomorrow. Santa Glenn joins us this morning with all the details. Santa, wow, what a sweet treat, good morning. You have had a busy year. You have a lot going on there over the next couple of days, don’t you? I do and I’m going to have the honor of mayor Kate Gallegos, she’ll be down here helping me light the tree. It’s a 30 ft. tree , and i can’t wait to see how the kids react to that tree lighting. Oh it’s gonna be so great. So much to look forward to. So you’re elves must be so very busy right now? Oh, absolutely very busy. They’re are in the process of wrapping, starting to wrap up those presents and get them loaded towards the sleigh. And tomorrow night we’ll also be joined by the Cesar Chavez marching band. Every year they come down to lead Santa into the tree lighting. I’m so excited. And then we’ll have the Dickens Carolers and I can’t wait to hear this beautiful music. I love it. I’ll have them sing us out in a second. Yeah, i want to hear that for sure. So at this point, Santa are you pretty locked into your naughty and nice list? I mean, I know there’s not a lot of time left. Close to a month, right ? Can you redeem yourself? Well, you can, you can, you know, sometimes it’s a bit of a climb. Absolutely, could be on that nice list. So you have time Celeste. Thank goodness I got what, like 28 days or something like that. So Mrs. Claus. what is she up to when you’re traveling all around the world delivering gifts? Oh, she’s monitoring what I’m doing and makes sure I stay on task, you know? Santa has to have somebody helping him stay on task. Oh, yeah, an executive assistant makes all the difference. And if everybody comes down tomorrow night, they will also be joined by the cast from Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer put on by Childsplay Production and the beautiful Herberger Theater. It’ll be wonderful for a sing-a-long. I do want to ask you one last question here. What’s your favorite snack? For all the kiddos who may be watching this morning? what would you like them to leave for you on Christmas eve? Well you know, I love chocolate chip cookies, but the chocolate chips get on my gloves. So if they just leave me sugar cookies and make sure they leave something for the reindeer. Ok.
